A Bellerose resident around 253rd and 85th Ave. named Tom reported that his neighbor informed him yesterday that 3 Latino women in their mid to late 40’s were aggressively knocking on his front door around 11 am on 4/27/16. After no one answered the front door the women went around the side and continued knocking. The neighbor noticed and came outside to ask if he could help them. They seemed startled when he asked who they were looking for and said they “were looking for a woman who has lived here,” that “they have been to that house plenty of times.” He told them he doesn’t know who the woman is and she doesn’t live here and if they knock any harder the house alarm will go off. They then left and walked down the block.
Tom and his family and I have lived here for 30 years a wrote this to you because he heard there has been a string of robberies by women in Bellerose, Floral Park, and Glen Oaks. He thought the community should know and keep an eye out.
This may or may not have anything to do with the home break-ins in our area. It is great to see however that in this particular situation the good neighbor got involved possibly preventing another break-in.
As always, stay vigilant. If you see any suspicious activity do not hesitate to call 911. We thank Tom for passing this information along so that we can make our neighbors aware.
Please keep us informed of these “incidents” so that we can pass the information along to the community.
