Queens Borough President Melinda R. Katz, Queens Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski, and New York City Council Member Barry S. Grodenchik at the announcement on funding for P.S. 133Q and the Bellerose Playground.
The P.S. 133Q schoolyard and the adjacent Bellerose playground have been in need of repair for years. The previous Council Member, Mark S. Weprin, allocated over eight hundred thousand dollars toward renovations. In the 2016-2017 City budget, Borough President Melinda Katz added over 2.3 million dollars and COuncil member Barry S. Grodenchik added 1.1 million dollars, fully funding the renovation of both properties.
