Friends of Bellerose Playground Community Meeting

Yesterday the FRIENDS OF BELLEROSE PLAYGROUND conducting it’s first community meeting.  FOBP had a great first turnout!  FOBP had approximatley 25 community members in attendance as well as representatives from Senator Avella’s office, Council Member Mark Weprin’s Office, Parks, and local civic groups.

FOBP received great news from Senator Avella’s office yesterday as well.  The Senator has secured $250,000. to create a READING GARDEN in Bellerose Playground!  FOBP wishes to thank the Senator.

FOBP also gained support from Council Member Mark Weprin. The Councilman sent a letter (read letter here)to the FOBP and Bellerose community pledging his support for our project and that he is in the process of trying to get funds for it.  Our gratitude to Council Member Mark Weprin for his support.

The FOBP was also able to get at least 30 signatures added to our petition to help with our goals.

The FOBP highly appreciates the turnout and support of our community. Hopefully we can continue to grow this support and get our park, the ONLY park in Bellerose, Queens repaired, upgraded, and modernized!
