Over the years Council Member Barry Grodenchik has contacted the Parks Dept. many times on our behalf to have U.S. flags at the Bellerose Playground, damaged due to the elements, replaced. Due to the ongoing reconstruction of the playground, Grodenchik had the NYC Schools Construction Authority remove the torn flag in May, 2019. It will be replaced when the renovation is complete. Thanks again, Council Member Grodenchik! We understand that under a separate contract the flagpole will be re-painted.
